In terms of scientific and technological innovation, the Department of Mechanics and Aerospace Engineering will introduce advanced technologies and outstanding scientific research talents from the international aerospace industry and become a window for the Chinese aerospace industry to integrate with international advanced technologies. Strive to develop the technologies needed for future aerospace and aviation based on the country’s existing technical strength. Actively participate in national key projects, directly participate in engineering design, product development or provide professional technical consultation, and focus on the development of basic tools and software, and provide technical services for China's aerospace industry.
The Department of Mechanics and Aerospace Engineering has gathered a group of high-level professionals from related fields around the world, covering academic and industrial backgrounds. So far, 27 teaching and research teachers have been in place, 80% of whom have national talent titles, including 2 academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 1 academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 1 academician of the Royal Canadian Academy of Sciences and Engineering, European Academy of Sciences and Arts, European Academy of Sciences, 1 academician of the Australian Academy of Engineering, Shenzhen Peacock team and 11 international fellows. All faculty members have overseas study and work experience. There are two undergraduate majors, "Theoretical and Applied Mechanics" and "Aerospace Engineering". In May 2018, he was authorized by the Ministry of Education for a master's degree and a doctorate degree in mechanics. Approved as a postdoctoral mobile station in mechanics in 2019. There are "Guangdong Province Key Laboratory of Turbulence Basic Research and Application" and "Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Aerospace Complex Flow".
