Professor
Dr. Ge Qi is the associate head of the Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering, Southern University of Science and Technology, tenured professor, doctoral supervisor, and deputy director of Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Mechanics and Intelligent Manufacturing of Soft Materials. He has been selected as a national young talent, a high-level talent in Guangdong Province, and an overseas high-level talent in Shenzhen. He serves on the editorial board of high-level journals such as International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing, Microsystems & Nanoengineering. He has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States and as an assistant professor at the Singapore University of Technology and Design. Since returning to China full-time in June 2019, he has successively presided over projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Key R&D Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology. His main research areas include smart materials and structures, 4D printing, soft robotics, flexible electronics, etc. Dr. Ge has published more than 100 journal papers, including Science Advances, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, etc. as the first author or corresponding author. With more than 12,000 citations and an H-index of 47, he has been selected as an Elsevier China Highly Cited Researcher and one of the top 2% scientists in the world at Stanford University.
