2. Passionate about research in computational mechanics, with the ability to independently complete scientific research work.

3. Have a strong foundation in mathematics and mechanics, as well as computer programming skills in C/C++.

4. Proficient in mastering 1-2 CAE software (such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, etc.).

5. Priority will be given to those who have published high-quality English papers.

Benefits:

1. The postdoctoral appointment is for two years, with a comprehensive annual salary starting at 330,000 RMB (including Guangdong Province and Shenzhen City postdoctoral living allowances). Social insurance and housing provident fund will be provided according to Shenzhen regulations. Postdoctoral benefits are issued according to university staff standards. Outstanding candidates may apply for the President's Excellent Postdoctoral Fellowship, with an annual salary exceeding 500,000 RMB (including Guangdong Province and Shenzhen City postdoctoral living allowances).

2. Guangdong Province provides a total living allowance of 300,000 RMB (pre-tax) for eligible postdoctoral researchers, and Shenzhen City provides a total living allowance of 120,000 RMB (pre-tax) for eligible postdoctoral researchers, with a funding period of 24 months.

3. During the appointment period, postdoctoral researchers may apply for Shenzhen public housing through the university. Those who do not use Shenzhen public housing through the university may receive a housing subsidy of 2,800 RMB/month (pre-tax) for two years.

4. Excellent working environment and opportunities for domestic and international collaboration. Postdoctoral researchers will receive a total of 25,000 RMB for academic exchange activities over two years.

5. The research group will assist eligible postdoctoral researchers in applying for postdoctoral talent programs. If successful, they may receive up to 1,000,000 RMB in subsidies (not concurrently with Guangdong Province and Shenzhen City postdoctoral living allowances).

6. Postdoctoral researchers who stay in Shenzhen for full-time work within six months after completing their appointment and sign a labor (employment) contract with an enterprise or institution for more than three years will receive a 360,000 RMB living allowance from the Shenzhen government (subject to the latest Shenzhen application requirements).

7. Postdoctoral researchers who receive the Postdoctoral Innovative Talent Support Program or the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation Special Funding during their appointment and sign a labor (employment) contract with the city within six months after completing their appointment will receive additional funding from the Shenzhen government at a 1:1 ratio to the national funding standard, up to 300,000 RMB (subject to the latest Shenzhen application requirements).

8. Postdoctoral researchers who win gold, silver, or bronze awards in the National or Guangdong Province Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and sign a labor (employment) contract with the city within six months after completing their appointment will receive additional innovation and entrepreneurship rewards from the Shenzhen government at a 1:1 ratio to the national and provincial reward amounts, up to 200,000 RMB (subject to the latest Shenzhen application requirements).

9. According to Article 39 of the "Shenzhen Postdoctoral Work Management Regulations," the funding items in this regulation do not overlap with the Shenzhen Newly Introduced Doctoral Talent Living Allowance (100,000 RMB).

Assistant Professor Ju LIU at liuj36@sustech.edu.cn.

Dr. Ju Liu graduated from Xi'an Jiaotong University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He then pursued computational mechanics and applied mathematics at the University of Texas at Austin, earning his Ph.D. by the end of 2014. In 2015, he conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Texas at Austin. From 2016 to 2020, he continued his postdoctoral work at Stanford University. In December 2020, he joined the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) as an Assistant Professor, Ph.D. supervisor, and research group leader.

His research focuses on computational mechanics, fluid-structure interaction, and biomechanics. His work has been recognized with the Robert J. Melosh Award from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Duke University. His research on fluid-structure interaction was invited for presentation at the Stanford Fluid Mechanics Seminar. He has also been invited multiple times to deliver keynote speeches at international and domestic conferences on computational mechanics.

The research group operates at the intersection of mechanics, mathematics, biomedical engineering, and computer science. The team currently maintains an open-source finite element program, PERIGEE (https://github.com/APSIS-ANALYSIS/PERIGEE), based on C++. The group maintains close collaborations with multiple research teams at SUSTech and institutions worldwide. The team is dedicated to training interdisciplinary professionals proficient in modern computational mechanics methods and best practices. Talented individuals at all levels (Master's, Ph.D., and postdoctoral researchers) are warmly welcomed to join.
