Job Description

Position: Recruitment of Postdoctoral Fellows in the research team for manufacturing mechanics in the Department of Mechanics and Aerospace Engineering

Responsibility: 

1. Conduct assigned research and take responsibility for achieving objectives within the specified timeframe.

2. Communicate and collaborate with relevant domestic and international partners, including industry, to address research-related issues.

3. Support the research group in identifying and pursuing funding opportunities.

4. Proactively apply for competitive grants—such as those from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC)—at national, provincial, and municipal levels, serving as principal investigator.

5. Contribute to team building and group management, including participation in additional projects.

Assist in supervising students and research assistants.

Job Description:

Subject Group Leader:

 The Group Leader is a Chair Professor who has received over 20 awards for academic achievement and has developed several advanced theories of manufacturing mechanics and cutting-edge technologies, which has led to tens of millions of dollars in annual economic benefits for the manufacturing industry.

Recruitment Directions:

(1) Solid Mechanics: Elastic-Plastic constitutive theory of advanced materials;

(2) Nanomechanic: First-principles and molecular dynamics analysis of the evolution of material properties under the action of laser and ion beams;

(3) Composite Metamaterials (theory and experiment);

(4) Contact Mechanics: Dynamics of complex surface contact;

(5) Fluid-Solid Interaction: theoretical and computational; dynamic behavior of viscous fluids under strong solid boundary motion.

Postdoctoral Benefits and Welfare:  

1. The postdoctoral appointment is for two years, with a comprehensive annual salary starting at 330,000 RMB (including Guangdong Province and Shenzhen City postdoctoral living allowances). Social insurance and housing provident fund will be provided according to Shenzhen regulations. Postdoctoral benefits are issued according to university staff standards. Outstanding candidates may apply for the President's Excellent Postdoctoral Fellowship, with an annual salary exceeding 500,000 RMB (including Guangdong Province and Shenzhen City postdoctoral living allowances).  

2. Guangdong Province provides a total living allowance of 300,000 RMB (pre-tax) for eligible postdoctoral researchers, and Shenzhen City provides a total living allowance of 120,000 RMB (pre-tax) for eligible postdoctoral researchers, with a funding period of 24 months.

Requirements

Education: Ph.D

1. Hold a Ph.D. degree in the fields of mechanics, manufacturing, or materials science.

2. Have undergone rigorous research training.

3. Possess strong logical thinking skills and the ability to solve problems independently.

4. Demonstrate creative thinking and innovative research capabilities.

5. Exhibit good English communication skills, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking, and have published high-level academic papers in English journals as the first author. (If not the first author, please provide an explanation.)

6. Have a passion for scientific research, adhere to academic ethics, possess a strong sense of responsibility and an entrepreneurial spirit, excel in teamwork, and demonstrate qualities such as hard work, down-to-earth attitude, honesty, and seriousness.
